    Florabama Geospatial Solutions, LLC (FGS) is seeking Geomatics Graduates or experienced personnel for all positions for employment in our DeFuniak Springs, FL and/or West Plains, MO Office(s). FGS offers a wide variety of Surveying Services across the nation. Currently we are looking for individuals to help with our Surveying and Mapping contracts with multiple US Army Corps of Engineers Districts. Work on these contracts consists of basic boundary and topographic surveys; high order geodetic work along with specialized hydrographic work. We also have Contracts with other federal agencies such as the US Fish & Wildlife Service and the US Forest Service, both of which involve detailed Cadastral Boundary work.     Provide management and oversight of survey crews (one presently, but two or more in the future) and a survey drafter.  Responsibilities to include deed research, project pricing, proposal writing, field survey scheduling, survey drawing and plat preparation and general survey management. Candidate should be familiar with current survey techniques and technologies and should be comfortable performing and managing topographic surveys, boundary surveys, commercial ALTA surveys, and construction staking.  The position will require close cooperation with engineers and others in the office to ensure timely completion of surveys required to develop project designs. The position will require current Alabama Registration as a Professional Land Surveyor.

    Must be familiar with the basics of survey in boundary, topographic, as-built surveys and ALTA Surveys.  Must also be familiar with construction staking for elements of construction.  Must be able to work alone or with a team.  Must have working knowledge of GPS, robotic and conventional total stations and data collectors.  Must be able to maintain survey equipment and trouble shoot control or equipment issues.  Must have a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.

    The Lecturer/Assistant/Associate Professor position in Mathematics is responsible for teaching courses at all levels in the Surveying and Geomatics Sciences program, advising students, maintaining an active research program, promoting the major, and providing service to the University and the profession.

    The location of the full time position is Troy University campus.

    The minimum requirements is a Master’s degree in Geomatics, Surveying or a survey-related field.  The preferred requirements are: 

    • Ph.D. in Geomatics, Surveying or a survey-related field
    • Work experience in land surveying
    • Licensed as a Professional Land Surveyor
    • Teaching experience
