Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 4 hours per day
Job Summary: Serves as the leading instrument operator in laying out construction projects, roads and easements. Serves as party chief of a field party engaged in obtaining various types of survey data and obtaining utility inventory data. Develops contracts for materials testing and surveying. Checks computation made by others. Reviews and approves for payment of contract services. Prepares technical descriptions of surveyed real estate to accompany legal descriptions used in easements and real estate transactions. Acts as a construction coordinator on design and construction projects to monitor progress and certify and approve pay requests. Required to drive from site to site.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in Construction Management, Building Construction, Architecture, Engineering or related field and three years experience as a registered professional land surveyor OR an Associate's degree in Construction Management, Building Construction, Architecture, Engineering or related field and five years experience as a registered professional land surveyor OR Vocational/ Technical/Trade school training in a related field and six years experience as a registered professional land surveyor. At least one (1) year construction related experience coordinating/working on multi-million dollar construction projects. Registered as a professional land surveyor. Experience in technical drafting/AutoCAD. Strong aptitude for problem solving and design. Ability to coordinate input with Contractor, Designer, and Project Manager. Proficient in various types of computer software including AutoCAD, word processing, spreadsheets, and e-mail. Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of people using both oral and written communication. Must drive from site to site. Must have valid US driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report as determined by the insurance carrier.
